Anonymous asked: Hey Ty... Have you ever felt really ugly? Ive been very depressed for a few months and cant draw no matter what, and with that self defining thing taken away from me Im starting to hate everything about me, inside out, and I just dont want to be me anymore. Its such a strong active feeling, I suddenly break into tears thinking of myself. Do you have any idea what I might be able to do to overcome...

Anonymous asked: Ty, You beautiful, amazing, talented thing! You inspire me to draw and persist and find myself. I really hope that everything works out with your family, but I think that even if you are having any problems, you will always have your ten thousand closest friends and devoted fans to turn to. We always love you, despite whatever happens.

Anonymous asked: I'll be sadly honest. I used to be so confused about your gender when I first saw you on dA. Then after a few months of realizing how stupid it was to question gender, I understood that gender doesn't matter. You were my inspiration and you still are. :)

whistlingblue asked: Hey Ty! I just wanted to let you know that my old high school (I'ma freshman in college, yo) recently instated a new rule stateth homeroom shall be divided based on gender. Because boys might not feel "comfortable" talking in front of girls and vice versa. SO the reason why I'm tellin' you this is because I've basically been interogating this rule and writing ESSAYS...

Some things I don't understand
fatandtheivy:
Why is it accepted that some people who eat a ton of food can stay thin, but not accepted that some people who eat a small amount of food can be fat?
Since thin people get diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, why is becoming thin suggested as a cure?
Why bother using BMI as a substitute for metabolic health measures when we can easily test metabolic health measures?

Dear Bee (2),
I can be clumsy with my emotions sometimes, and I know it makes it hard to talk to me. But at the end of the day, I will always, always remember how much I love you more than my own pride.
Sorry I can’t seem to find the courage to say this to your face, but when you find this, just know I’m thinking of you every moment of my life.
Love, Naf

The problem with tossing around "White Privilege"...
This is a touchy subject, but I hate racism in all forms. And I strongly believe that racism can— and IS— used against “white people.”
In America, yes, the institution of knowledge and culture is mainly European in origin and ancestry, and if you are to compare levels of success to “Caucasian ideals,” then yes. White influence is stronger in this country.

You are not "Damned": Religion and Sexuality
I just got a very long and desperate message from a fan I deeply appreciate, so I wanted to type this up for anyone who has— and is— struggling with the problem of consolidating religion and their sexuality.
Before we even begin talk on religion, let me first say this: The person and/or people you choose to love does not determine if you are a good or bad person. You are not damned.

homosexuality in the quran
mosprob:
This is going to be a long-ass post, but not nearly as long as this topic deserves. The more I’ve studied this issue, the more I’ve come to see deeper dimensions to the quran’s language e.g. the use of dualities and the role of gendered words. I can’t cover everything I’ve found in one post, so I’ll keep this as brief and as structured as possible.

Another openly gay Imam

amillionexpectations:
Imam Muhsin Hendricks is part of the Inner Circle organisation in South Africa that works to fight homophobia by creating awareness of sexuality in the Muslim community.
He also took part in the documentary film “Jihad for Love”. A real pioneer and I hope that his message of tolerance and love and compassion is more widely adopted. To me, Islam is a...

You Didn’t Thank Me For Punching You in the Face «...

Original Blog Entry Here. “On a somewhat serious note today because of a conversation the other day: I am sure every girl can recall, at least once as a child, coming home and telling their parents, uncle, aunt or grandparent about a boy who had pulled her hair, hit her, teased her, pushed her or committed some other playground crime. I will bet money that most of those,...

An insecurity I decided to say "Fuck off" to
I will be frank. The first “Picture This” story has some pretty dark elements. I won’t spoil what it might be, but it made me sincerely nervous for a while.
We got an ask a while ago asking if the stories would have dark themes, and if so, would we please include warnings.
It made me start worrying that Sam&Sara’s story would be too hard to swallow for some of our...

Anonymous asked: Hi, uh, I've been kinda wanting to tell my parents that I'm very much gay, but unfortunately, last time I asked them what they thought about gay people... I almost got kicked out for saying I don't see anything wrong with it. But now its a lot better (beside the homophobia) its been a few years since that happened and I haven't gone out with anyone yet so I don't know how...
